Service Overview

A vehicle service is the series of maintenance procedures carried out at a set time interval or after the vehicle has traveled a certain distance. Service intervals are specified by the vehicle manufacturer and can be found in your vehicle manual book.

DrivePlus repairs, maintains and installs all parts and components to manufacturer standards to ensure that your engine runs just as it should. Air Conditioning

Air Sensors

If one of the air conditioning sensors fail then the system will shut down

Aircon Pump

Pump allows the gas to be pressurized and circulated through out the system

Dye & oil

Dye & Oil is used in new AC systems to check for leaks and to lubericate the ac pump

Aircon Gas

Aircon gas can cause a whistling sound when low and will not cool down the cabin to spesification

Ventilation Pipes

Will result in no air flow or very poor air flow when unhooked or broken

Air Flaps

Air flaps will not give you the desired air flow where needed when faulty

Dryer Filter

This item can block up with a failed system and will need replacement with a condensor

Evaporator

Air conditioning might leak gas into the cabin and will result in no aircon opperation

Condenser

Air conditioning wont function and if left will result in complete system failure

Auto Electrical

Alternator

The charging system for the vehicle eg: Battery and will cause the vehicle to shutdown all electronics if faulty

BAS

Braking assist system: When this system fails it will decrease stopping distance

Canbus

When this system fails it will result in multipal fucntions to stop working as it is main comunication system in the vehicle

Central Gateway

Central gate way allows data to be change from high to low speed can and if faulty will give you multipal faults through out the vehicle

ESP

ESP will result the vehicle to go into limp mode when indicator light is activated and braking funtions will be limited

Engine Lights

Early waning system that will indicate system faults in the Motor Electronics

Rear Sam

Controls certain amounts of functions in the vehicle eg: door locks, fuel pump, radio, air conditioning, seats etc

SRS

This is the part of safety system of the vehicle in case of an accident and has multipal components ex: safety belts, airbags etc

Starter

Stater motor allows the driver to start the engine. This unit when faulty can give you multipal faults eg: none start, clicking sound

Coolant System

Vehicle Antifreeze

Prevents to low coolant tempretures and gives a higher boiling point and has anti corrosive propertys to protect engine parts

Coolant Bottle

Stores extra amount of coolant if the vehicle needs more it will draw coolant from there

Engine Fan

Cools down coolant that passes through the radiator to prevent coolant from overheating if it fails coolant temp will rise rapidly

Heater Valves

Electronically controlled valve that lets warm coolant pass through evaporator to heat interior cabin if desired

Thermostat

Regulates engine temp and wil open and close mechanically when needed to pass trough cold coolant

Coolant Pipes

Warn coolant pipes can result in coolant loss and overheating,when left it will result in engine failure

Water Pump

Controls circulation throught the coolant system at all times

Radiators

Radiator cools down the coolant in the system and will result in overheating when faulty

Engine Repairs

Adblue (Diesel Emissions)

Adblue system has a few components to assist with the dfp and regeneration in keeping the exhaust filter clean

O2 Sensors

This sensors measures the difference between upstrean and downstrean o2 sensors and can make fueling adjustments if needed

DPF Filter

This removes soot and ash content from exhaust gases to even more purify exhaust gas

Catalytic Converters

Converts harmfull exhaust gasses into more pure oxygen gases to prevent polution resulting in better fuel economy

Turbos

Uses exhaust gas to propel intake vane and produses posetive air presure resulting in more power and higher efficiency

Ignition Coils

Transmits a spark to the spark plug if faulty will result in uneven engine running and misfires

Spark Plug Misfiring

Will cause uneven engine running caracteristics if not maintained on regular service intervals

Gearbox Mountings

Keeps the gearbox inline with the engine and stops it from jumping up and down on hard accelaration

Engine Mountings

Keeps the engine in place and causes vibrations through out the vehicle when warn

Exhaust Manifold

Allows all the cylinders exhaust gasses to be transfered to the exhuast system. When leaking it will cause loud ratting/rumbeling noises

Intake Manefold

Allows air to be transfered to the engine and can activate the engine light when it sucks air

Fuel Pump (High/Low Pressure)

Delivers fuel from the fuel tank to the engine and injectors. The unit can block up over time and cause hard starting

Quantity Control Valve

Regulates fuel pressure and will result to a no start if faulty

Fuel Rail

Fuel rail acummilates fuel to ensure sufficient fuel supply to the injectors

Injectors

Injectors is located either in the cyclinder head or intake manifold and injects fuel into the combustion chamber

Drive Shaft

This transmits engine speed through to differentail to the wheels alowing the vehicle to move forward or backward

CAM

This part opens and closes the valves on the cylinder head to draw in fresh air and fuel mixture

Pistons

Creates combustion pressure for rotation of engine parts if damaged there might be engine noises or loss of power

Main Bearings

Allows rotation between frictional components like the crankshaft if mechanically it fails the engine will stop rotating

Big End Bearings

Allows rotation between frictional components like the crankshaft if mechanically it fails the engine will stop rotating.

Head Repair

A cracked cylinder head is dangerous and leads to overheating. We repair, service and pressure test before reinstalation.

Air Pump

A Component that pumps air into the intake manifold, without this functioning it may lead to vehicle engine light turning on.

Oil Leaks

Any kind of oil leak can result in mechanical failure of engine, drivetrain and transmission failures.

Suspension

Steering Column

Connects te steering wheel to the steering rack to allow steering ability

Standard Steering Rack

Hydrulic oil is used to allow the user to turn the steering wheel left to right with ease

Electronic Steering Rack

Allows ease of movment when steering left to right and does not use hydrulic oil like old steering systems

Stabilizer Bar

Stabilizer bar decreeses roll actions in corners

Stabilizer Rubbers

Bushes that hold the stabilizer bar to the subframe and causes noises when warn out

Bushes

Bushes can be replaced separately when warn and allows as a connection between arm and frame

Thrust Arms

Lower control arm connects Hub to subframe and causes creecking noises when warn

Control Arms

Lower control arm connects Hub to subframe and causes creecking noises when warn

Hubs

Hubs function is to keep the wheel assembly in place

Wheel Bearings

Allows rotatinal movement between knuckle and wheels, when warn it will make a wine noise

Ball Joints

Ball jionts allows movments from left to right on steering knuckle and hubs

Link Rods

Its a link between left and right side stabilizer bar and shock absobers

Top shock Mountings

Absorbs all the road shock traveling through the shock absorbers even betering ride quality

Shock Absorbers

Absorbs all road movement to ensure a smoother ride, if they are worn it might result in uncumfortable rides or noises in suspension

Transmision

CV Joints

CV jionts can make noises when turning and accelarating. CV boots are a common item that needs replacement when warn

Drive Shaft

Drive shaft connect the diff to rear wheels to allow foward and backwards movement

Diferentials

Diff causes extream back lash when warn and also wine on deaccelaration

Couplers

Its a rubber mounting plate between the prop shaft and diff and propshaft and gearbox

Center Bearing

Center Bearing causes vibrations when warn, it allows as a stabilizer from the gearbox to the diff for smooth running

Propshaft

Connects the transmission to the rear differential and allows drive to the diff

Reset Geasrbox Adaptation

Transmission saves the gearchanges and might be improved by doing the adaptation

Gear Repair/Inspection

Might be a result of bad oil or burnt clutches resulting in a transmission rebuild

Valve Body

Directs oil to the right clutches where needed in a set gear to allow movement. When faulty the vehicle wont be able to accelarate

Electro Plate

Sends electronic signal that is requested by the driver and transmits it to the transmission

Gearbox Service (Hard Gear Change)

This is aquired on a regular service interval as some of the automatic transmissions uses oil presure to engage gears
